Ok, hold on…. doing WHAT, in... WHERE??
Biohacking is a social movement where individuals or groups, called biohackers, effectively ‘’hack’’ their bodies to achieve certain goals- trying boost their body performance, on every way possible.
Have you ever heard of it? If not, you better find out about it or keep reading, as it takes human health to a very new and exciting level.
My first touch of bio-hackers was last weekend, when the so called ''bio-elite'', drove right on the doorstep of my work place. I did not know anything about them until they had, actually, left back home and I’ve had time to investigate more about this what-ever- was biohacking. For the weekend, I had got along with the few facts I had heard from my colleagues ‘’It’s a bunch of some sort of health-freaks, who are talking in some conference in Helsinki. And now they are coming here’’.
OK, that will do.
For those who don’t know, I am working in a place called Sahala’s estate, as an ‘’anything to do with horses’’ -person.
The estate itself has much more to offer than just horse riding. For example, spine and posture supportive, saddle-chair factory.

(Posture, as any other improvement to health, is also very important factor in biohacking!)

The owner of the Estate and the inventor of the saddle-chair, Vessi, also categorised as a health-freak in someone’s standards, had managed to invite 30 hackers to see the beautiful countryside of Finland, Rautalampi, after spending the time in the main event.
Bio-hacker summit, was held in Helsinki 19-20.11.2016

The weekend was carefully planned and organised for these healthy and fit human entrepreneurs, who would hopefully arrive with 100% open mind. Before the event, we were concerned of how were they going to handle it all.
Which was, to our surprise, not a concern at all, because these guys did not hesitate on anything. They were happy to rip off all their clothes for a group-sauna and naked kettle-bell activities, dip in the ice cold river, walk barefoot several hundred meters(on 0 degrees) to score some points, sleep the night IN A TENT in a rainy forest, go horse riding for the first time, try out swimming without a thing on- in a public swimming pool and just learn about all the weirdness we Finns do. They surely tried everything without a doubt and even added some of their own twist into it.
And the funny thing is, they really seemed to enjoy it.
What I really wanted to write about is the the Biohack-movement, as it is not so known for all of us.
Biohacking means managing your own biology- so called physical and mental body, using medical, physical, nutritional or electrical techniques. It can be as simply as maintaining natural posture, eating nutritional and healthy diet or moving your body and enjoying the nature. Or it can be as complicated as placing your bed on earth-radiation free zones, using nootropics or other electronic devices to measure biometric data.
Basically just trying achieve and maintain the most healthiest and fittest version of yourself. And what I really like about it, is that they believe in doing-it-yourself, testing it out-methods, before accepting anything. So why not give it a try before saying no?
If you want to know more about fitness and biohacking, go to read more from one of these guys, who also spent the weekend with us in Rautalampi.
